Cosa mangiano le pulci? \u00c8 una domanda interessante la cui risposta dipende dallo stadio di vita in cui si trovano. La pulce ha quattro diversi stadi di vita; uovo, larva, pupa e adulto mordace. L'uovo viene deposto e poi schiuso come larva. La larva non mangia sangue come la pulce adulta, mangia cellule della pelle, escrementi di pulci, animali morti, feci o qualsiasi altra materia organica che riesce a trovare. La polvere rossastra che potresti vedere sul tuo animale domestico \u00e8 costituita dai detriti delle pulci adulte; sono gli escrementi contaminati dal sangue del tuo animale domestico (ecco perch\u00e9 \u00e8 di colore rossastro)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dopo circa due settimane la larva gira un bozzolo su se stessa usando pezzi di terra, detriti e capelli come camuffamento. Se hanno accesso a molto cibo, usciranno dal loro bozzolo in una settimana dopo aver girato il bozzolo. Se il cibo non \u00e8 abbondante possono rimanere nel loro bozzolo fino a un anno. Una volta che la pulce femmina adulta esce dal suo bozzolo, deve mangiare prima di potersi riprodurre o morir\u00e0 senza mai deporre un uovo.
